Family Trip to Italy - Free Sample Itinerary

13 Days Exploring Abruzzo, Tuscany, Cala Piccola & Rome

Some journeys are about discovering new places. Others are about discovering a little more about where you come from. For our family - which consists of a young daughter and a newborn - this summer journey through Italy was both.

My family’s 13-day Italian adventure began in the countryside of Abruzzo, continued through the medieval streets of Siena and the beautiful Tuscan coastline, and concluded in the timeless city of Rome.

Traveling by rental car gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace, balancing cultural experiences and historic landmarks with relaxation, incredible food, and meaningful time together.

I wanted to share a summary of our itinerary to help you with your next Italy trip and to spark travel ideas for you.
